Have you ever HEARD of Time4Learning? I never had until last year, when I was looking for something first, to supplement what my children were learning in school. My son, grade 2, was struggling in reading. My daughter, grade 8, was struggling in Math especially. There is something to be said, I guess about a C rated school system, and I guess that should say it all. Something is missing.
In my search for extra help and tutoring, I had looked at a variety of other programs. Some I found looked good, until I got into them. I found that many were either just not what we needed, or they were way below and behind what my kids were studying, so they didn’t help either.
Other programs I looked at, for tutoring help were so expensive, I couldn’t afford even a week at their prices. So, where do you turn when you have exhausted all options? I started purchasing books online and at local bookstores that I could piece out to give them additional practice. The biggest problem with that? You guessed it!
If they can’t grasp it in school, with a licensed teacher… are they really going to grasp it with Mom and Dad and just practice worksheets? Here’s my answer… a big RESOUNDING NO!!
Finally, after months of trial and error, and wasting a TON of money on programs that didn’t do what we needed.. I found Time4Learning.
Time4Learning covers every grade from Pre-K right on up through High School. It can be used as a full curriculum, or you can pick and choose the lessons that you want your children to focus on for extra help.
For the younger children, the content is engaging and the best part is you don’t have to sit beside them every minute because it will read TO them, and take them step by step through the lessons!
These lessons are easily understandable, and they are able to be repeated with no problems, if your child misses grasping all of the concept. You can go through it a couple of times, without hesitation. While learning, it’s interactive throughout the lesson, so that during the lessons you get a good idea of whether or not they get it.
It has a simple user interface, so it is easy for the older children (my son is grade 2 now, and he easily logs in and navigates to where he needs to go.) Once your child uses it a time or 2 they will know exactly where to go and how to navigate through each lesson.
The best part of it all? There is a “playground” for them when they need a break. We have ours set to 30 minute increments. Your child must work on their lessons for the amount of time that you set, and then the playground will unlock for them to use for that same amount of time. This is an incentive for them to work through their program, but know that there is a treat when they’re done.
As a member of Time4Learning, I have been asked to review their online education program and share my experiences. While I was compensated, this review was not written or edited by Time4Learning and my opinion is entirely my own. Write your own curriculum review or learn how to use their curriculum for homeschool, after school study or summer learning.
