The world of home security has stepped up its game over the last decade or so. Computer engineering companies are switching their focus to small machines which can be run with little power. This has enabled a lot more functionality to be crammed into small spaces. Which, in turn, has also improved the tools people use for their home security. To help you out with this, this post will be going through some of the best modern tools you can use to master your home security. So, now, you just have to start doing some research.

Great graphics and super cute characters! We have had this app a while, now they added Cinderella (which is my personal favorite from when i was a child) and Red Riding Hood which is another great classic!

My daughter has loved reading the books, singing the songs and playing with the fun characters in this app.  This has become our newest favorite for learning time, and she loves to play it any time.

123 Tracing Numbers: Montessori Math Game for Kids

My youngster is picking up his numbers by playing this app and he has just turned 3! This is really an awesome app! Highly recommended! Never hurts to get a head start in math!

Our daughter is actually ahead of the game for a 2 year old.  She interacts with this game often and has learned to trace the numbers 1-9 and we are now using it to progress to be able to write these numbers.  She has very good hand-eye coordination and fantastic motor skills.  I am sure with continued use, this app will be an invaluable tool to progress much farther!

Awesome Learning Tool!! My little boy is in pre-k and he loves this app! It has always been difficult to get him engaged in learning, even when it comes to getting to play on the tablet. He is learning how to trace letters and numbers and having fun! A+

Yet another fantastic app from Kids Academy!  With this app and the others from Kids Academy, I am sure that we’ll be reading and writing within another year, probably sooner.  I am truly impressed with the way that they engage my daughter.  Thank you Kids Academy for making learning time TRULY fun and memorable for both my daughter AND me.

Come learn about

Have you ever HEARD of Time4Learning?  I never had until last year, when I was looking for something first, to supplement what my children were learning in school.  My son, grade 2, was struggling in reading.  My daughter, grade 8, was struggling in Math especially.  There is something to be said, I guess about a C rated school system, and I guess that should say it all.  Something is missing.

In my search for extra help and tutoring, I had looked at a variety of other programs.  Some I found looked good, until I got into them.  I found that many were either just not what we needed, or they were way below and behind what my kids were studying, so they didn’t help either.

Other programs I looked at, for tutoring help were so expensive, I couldn’t afford even a week at their prices.  So, where do you turn when you have exhausted all options?  I started purchasing books online and at local bookstores that I could piece out to give them additional practice.  The biggest problem with that?  You guessed it!

If they can’t grasp it in school, with a licensed teacher… are they really going to grasp it with Mom and Dad and just practice worksheets?  Here’s my answer… a big RESOUNDING NO!!

Finally, after months of trial and error, and wasting a TON of money on programs that didn’t do what we needed.. I found Time4Learning.

Time4Learning covers every grade from Pre-K right on up through High School.  It can be used as a full curriculum, or you can pick and choose the lessons that you want your children to focus on for extra help.

For the younger children, the content is engaging and the best part is you don’t have to sit beside them every minute because it will read TO them, and take them step by step through the lessons!

These lessons are easily understandable, and they are able to be repeated with no problems, if your child misses grasping all of the concept.   You can go through it a couple of times, without hesitation.  While learning, it’s interactive throughout the lesson, so that during the lessons you get a good idea of whether or not they get it.

It has a simple user interface, so it is easy for the older children (my son is grade 2 now, and he easily logs in and navigates to where he needs to go.)  Once your child uses it a time or 2 they will know exactly where to go and how to navigate through each lesson.

The best part of it all?  There is a “playground” for them when they need a break.  We have ours set to 30 minute increments.  Your child must work on their lessons for the amount of time that you set, and then the playground will unlock for them to use for that same amount of time.  This is an incentive for them to work through their program, but know that there is a treat when they’re done.

As a member of Time4Learning, I have been asked to review their online education program and share my experiences. While I was compensated, this review was not written or edited by Time4Learning and my opinion is entirely my own. Write your own curriculum review or learn how to use their curriculum for homeschool, after school study or summer learning.

FarFaria App for iPad & iPhone

FarFaria for iPhone and iPad

I had looked at this app for many months before I had the opportunity to review this.

I researched many other progrrams, and kept coming back to this.  As many of you know, I homeschool 2 of my children, one who is 8 and one who is 14.  While many of these stories are a bit young for my oldest, she does enjoy immensely being able to read them to both her younger brother and sister.

I find these stories to be both entertaining and educational.  They are easily read by both of my older children, and they make great books to read each day for my son, who is just beginning to work indepth on his reading comprehension.

They are fantastic for conversation starters and get my son actively engaged in what he is reading.  They don’t lose his attention quickly at all.

I love that this app is updated FREQUENTLY and adds new books to his library.

This is well worth the price for the app, and I highly recommend the app for anyone who has both young readers and teen/tweens alike.  You will find a virtual library at your fingertips.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
